ABSTRACT: This research investigates the role of early childhood education in promoting sustainable agriculture among young children. Introducing concepts of sustainable agriculture early can foster a generation of environmentally conscious individuals. Objectives included evaluating children's understanding of sustainable agriculture, identifying effective educational practices, and assessing the long-term benefits of early agricultural education. A survey design was chosen for its effectiveness in collecting broad data. Purposive sampling was employed to select 180 children from preschools in Ogun State, Nigeria. Findings revealed that children exposed to sustainable agriculture education demonstrated a greater understanding and appreciation of sustainable farming practices. Activities such as interactive lessons on crop rotation, hands-on gardening projects, and visits to sustainable farms were particularly effective. The study recommended incorporating sustainable agriculture education into early childhood curricula to enhance understanding and practice of sustainable farming from an early age.
